TACKLING OFFENDING PROGRAMMES
Our tackling offending programmes are focused on providing clients with positive alternatives to offending and the support to deal with the issues that contribute to offending behaviour.
Sessions are an important component in helping clients establish a healthy routine and doing something constructive with their day/week. As well as working on improving general physical fitness and health through our multi-sports programme our support workers simultaneously work with clients on developing the key skills that build resilience and enable clients to move away from negative lifestyles/behaviours and to play a successful and positive part in their community; positive relationships, self-esteem, self-confidence, resilience, communication and developing a positive can do attitude.
In preparation for making a successful transition into positive destinations clients attend a programme of workshops delivered by local partners and AIR Sports Network staff on a range of topics including entering the world of work, CV writing, interview skills, personal presentation, finance and budgeting, life skills and dealing with aggression. AIR Sports Network staff also provide signposting services and one to one support for clients looking to access work, training or education opportunities. Over 65% of our clients with offending issues do not re-offend whilst working with AIR Sports Network.
